Kia mau ki nga kupu o ou tupuna, Whaia e koe ki te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe, me maunga teitei. Toku reo toku oho oho He kakano ahau I ruia mai I Rangiatea

Hold fast to the words of your ancestors Seek the treasure you value most dearly; if you bow your head, let it be to a lofty mountain My language, my awakening I am a seed, scattered from Rangiatea

Wisdom and influence often come from our older wiser generations. They've expressed that if we want to seek valued treasures we should humbly look to someone who stands on higher ground than yourself. With the knowledge that you are a desendant of 'Rangiatea' (ancient Maori school of learning). The learning will awaken you and give adornment to your thoughts and wisdom to you language.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP SERIES: Psychotherapy - the state of the art

Workshop 1: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – 24 July 2008
Workshop 2: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – 28 August 2008
Workshop 3: Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) – 11 September 2008
Workshop 4: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Conceptualisation – 23 October 2008

Research has affirmed the value of psychotherapy as the treatment of choice for many psychological difficulties. It is important that those of us working in this field keep up to date with our knowledge of psychotherapy so that we can offer our clients the best available treatment.

Who should attend?
These workshops are designed for professionals and postgraduate students who work in psychology, counselling, psychotherapy and related fields. The workshops will assume that participants have a reasonable background in mental health and psychotherapy generally and have some practice experience to draw on. The workshops are designed to enable you to bridge between your existing knowledge and the latest models of practice in psychotherapy. The workshops will provide enough background for participants who may have only limited exposure to any of the models but will also provide more experienced clinicians with opportunities to discuss complex and difficult cases.
