In all Werry Centre activity we are conscious of the need to include the broad range of services for infant, child, adolescent and family/whānau mental health within DHBs, NGOs and addiction services. We aim to support the wider workforce including PHOs, community mental health, school guidance counsellors and others.
As noted in the Proposed Work Plan 2007-2010, the Werry Centre has employed and developed a highly effective management, clinical and cultural team and has built capacity to undertake the programme plan. We believe that we have grown an expert team of highly skilled, innovative staff at the Werry Centre who have demonstrated their efficacy and established effective networks and ways of working.
As time has progressed, we have moved from team members being attributed to single projects to the current team bringing their expertise to all projects. We have a core team of advisors representing Clinical, Māori, Pacific, Youth, Family/Whānau and NGOs who are able to advise and offer their expertise across all projects. We also have highly skilled research and administration staff and will include an Evaluator in the core team for Contract 3.
This enhanced team has the capacity to coordinate and undertake the breadth of work proposed with some additional project managers and staff allocated to certain outputs.
We recognise the growing needs of Asian and migrant populations. We have had some discussions with key stakeholders and wherever possible will support these populations by contracting advice when needed.
All outputs have been aligned to the appropriate goals and/or recommendations of: Te Kokiri Tauawhitia te Wero Whakamārama te Huarahi
