An Introduction to Child and Adolescent Mental Health - Online Resource
An Introduction to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Online Resource has been designed to serve as an introduction to the knowledge, skills and attitudes that are necessary when working in child and adolescent mental health in New Zealand. The resource is made up of a series of four courses; Developmental Considerations, Engagement Strategies, Assessment Strategies and Interventions. The courses are to be completed sequentially. Upon completion of all four courses the participant will receive a ‘Certificate of Achievement’.
Who is it for: This resource will be used by practitioners who have recently started working in the area, including Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Cultural Workers, Psychology Interns and others.
Cost: Free of charge.
Location: This resource is online and accessed via the internet, therefore can be completed anywhere that the participant has access to a reliable internet connection.
Dates: The courses can be completed at participants’ own pace – there is no start/finish date.
Duration: This resource is equivalent to 8 hours of self-directed study. Each course will take between 1- 1 ˝ hours to complete and 1-1 ˝ extra time for additional reading.

Note: This resource provides an introduction only, for ongoing clinical work in CAMHS, more in-depth knowledge and understanding is needed.
How to Enrol
Participants are required to fill in the electronic enrolment form (below) which they must submit to the WC in one of four ways:
1. Fill in electronically and submit electronically by clicking the ‘submit’ button at the end of the form. 2. Fill in electronically and print off, scan and email to WC 3. Fill in electronically, print off and fax/post to WC 4. Print off, fill in by hand and scan, fax or post to WC
