Specialist Services focused on the particular needs of children, adolescents and young people within their families or whanau. We are staffed by qualified and skilled mental health professionals, who work as a multidisciplinary team. We offer mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment. We offer consultation and liaison services to other agencies. YSS also accepts direct referrals from clients or other concerned individuals. Our team consists of Clinical Co-ordinator, Psychologists, Child Psychotherapists, Social Worker, Whai Manaaki, Child/Adolescent Psychiatrists, Administration staff. Dual Diagnosis Keyworker, Early Intervention workers. |
| Eligibility of Service: |
Accept referrals from other agencies or professionals (teachers, family doctor etc), where the identified client may be experiencing; major psychiatric disorder; a severe, treatment-resistant behaviour disorder or is at significant risk of self harm or causing harm to others. CAFMHS team works with clients up to 18 years old. YSS Psychologists provide direct service to clients 15 – 19, consults of clients 20-24. Dual Diagnosis Keyworker (substance abuse plus mental illness) provides assessment, consultation and Liaison for clients 15-24. YSS Early Intervention provides assessment, consultation and liaison for clients experiencing their first episode of psychosis. |
