Research
The research team is based in the Department of Psychological Medicine in the Medical School of the University of Auckland and is supervised by Dr Sally Merry. An exciting programme of research is underway which will underpin policy and practice for the assessment and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with mental health problems.
Research is considered an important part of the Werry Centre and is a focus for development over the next five years, with activities in infant, child and adolescent mental health steadily increasing and in an International Conference on Infant Mental Health in Auckland planned for 2010.
The Werry Centre staff participate in international research and regularly invites international academics to present workshops and presentations and our own academics present at international conferences. We have an ongoing NIH funded research project in collaboration with the Brown University Centre for Children at Risk, USA (see the IDEAL study details).
